As publisher of Fine Art Connoisseur, I encounter thousands of artists every year, and I’ve had an opportunity to explore the careers of many. I’ve also had my portrait painted by almost every major living (and some now-deceased) portrait artist and have found myself carrying on conversations with them, in some cases over several days. Through that process I’ve determined the success factors of these great artists.
